Red Decision

I present images composed of diversified interpretations of women in conjunction with elements of nature and mystical imagery and iconography. This surrealistic body of entities may be interpreted within various realms; the first is presented to us as a fraction of time frozen within the narrative of a tale. It depends on the viewer to define the harmonious or dysfunctional character of it. The second realm of interpretation turns the beholder’s vision towards one-self; depending on the level of vulnerability that the viewer adds, these images open an opportunity for search, analysis and self-discovery.

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

This painting presents a lot of questions which we must answer - The first one, what happened to the bird? Is it montionless, dead even? Is it a warning, a premonition? Why do you think the hyena is hiding behing her? She is sitting on top of a compass, which way must she go?

This painting is about power and vulnerability. The hyena representing her power, her strength just peeking out, making itself present. The bird is the representation of her freedom which lies montionless on the ground, or perhaps flew away towards the oposite end. What did she do as she is playing with one of the feathers as if thinking what desicion to be made.

The tension between all characters is created in a red environment while the shadows of her past witness this pivotal instant.
